Women / Club

July is already nearing its end, but there is still summer left, and events 🤩

On Sunday 26.7. at 9 a friendly match between Kymen Golf, Sea Golf Rönnäs and Virvik Golf will be played.Come and play among women and have fun on our wonderful course. The competition is very light-hearted, nothing serious at all, even if a hole goes badly. The categories are over 36 hcp and under 36 hcp. The five best scores of each club are counted.

The popular women's play evenings continue until the end of August, so there is still a chance to take part. So put the following Mondays in your calendar: 27.7., 10.8. and 24.8.At the last women's play evening we will also draw

the winner of the Birdie tree. Every birdie you make is a ticket in the draw, so it is worth marking them all on the tree.

On Sunday 23.8. the Women's yellow tee competition is held. The competition is open to the women of Virvik and Porvoo Golf, and the best players from both clubs are rewarded.Come and experience the course from a slightly different perspective and challenge yourself.

The ballot box for Lady of the Year 2026 is in the office at the caddiemaster's desk. The ballot papers can be found there as well.

A shared WhatsApp group for the women has been wished for and one will now be put together during the coming week. We will try to get a join link onto Virvik's website, or alternatively you can ask e.g. Disa to add you to the group (contact details can be found on Virvik's site)

The purpose of the group is to find playing partners, share information and have other golf-related discussion.

Have a lovely rest of the summer and see you on the course ❤️⛳️

Best regards, the ladies of the club committee Disa, Jaana, Melissa and Päivi

Action plan for the 2026 seasonThe women's play evenings start in May around 18.5. and continue until the end of August. The play evenings will continue as before on odd Mondays and the game formats will be varied next year too, as this year. Mainly Stableford, however, so that those who wish can hand in cards. The women's Sunday will be played in June this year as well. The date and theme will be announced closer to the time. The women's birdie tree is on display from May until the end of August. Those who make birdies get as many tickets for the draw as birdies they have made, so everyone has a chance to win regardless of level. The women's yellow tee competition has so far been held as an internal club event, but because of the small number of participants we have also invited the women of Porvoo Golf. The best players from both clubs are rewarded. The women's three-club match will be held in 2026 at Virvik. Taking part are the women of Virvik Golf, the Kymen women and the women of Sea Golf Rönnäs. Beer competitions for the midis can be held depending on demand. The Gran Prix pair competition series, new this year, is to be developed further for next year. This year three competitions were held.At the start of the season an opening event with some fun theme is held, and at the end of the season the intention is to hold a closing event again. The club committee's social media and visibility are to be increased next year. In addition, aesthetic matters will be invested in as this year. The intention is, among other things, to tidy up the flower beds and paint the inside of the toilet at hole 10.We will also develop cooperation and network with other clubs.
