Juniors

Junior activities continue in the 2025–2026 season with the same line-up as in the previous season. Jussi Pietiläinen continues as chair of the committee and Pro Christine Blomqvist is the head coach. Below are the main goals for the coming season: More juniors and families from the local area joining the activities. New children in the junior and competitive golf programme. Development of the players who already compete. New active juniors will be sought through effective advertising, which was already started during the past season. Below are the measures with which this will be carried out: More marketing on social media. An invitation to the area's Facebook groups: ”Welcome to get to know golf. Free participation in golf practice twice during May”. Bring a friend to practice day. The juniors' practices will continue to be run in line with Virvik Golf's vision. 1. A safe and encouraging environment. The juniors enjoy coming to practice. 2. Attention to the individual. Coaching takes age, stage of development, goals and personality into account. 3. High-quality, goal-oriented coaching. The practices are versatile and support technical, physical and mental growth. Progress is followed regularly. 4. Positive and fun content in the practices. A love of the sport and golf as a lifelong hobby. 5. Learning a healthy lifestyle. Training, nutrition and rest. We learn skills that are useful for a whole lifetime. 6. Developing mental strength. Self-confidence, a positive attitude and the ability to concentrate.

The winter season practices are held for the seventh consecutive year at Uusimaa Areena in Porvoo. At Uusimaa Areena the training is divided into four different areas: Technical basics, Skills practice, Mental practice, Physical practice (in the functional area). During the winter season the competition groups practise in the simulator on Thursdays at Birdie Club in Ölstens, Porvoo, under Christine's guidance. This keeps a good feel in the shots throughout the winter. In the summer, practice continues at Virvik again. In the summer the juniors are divided into a recreational group and two competition groups, which compete in the events organised by the Golf Union. The summer groups will be planned in more detail during 2026, before the practices move to Virvik. Number of competitive players in 2026: 8 Future Tour players, 3–4 Challenge Tour players, 1–2 Junior Tour players. Goal for the competition team: the junior team national championship in 2027. In the 2025–2026 season we want to continue the development work we have started, aimed at creating better conditions for the juniors in terms of playing and competitive readiness. This is to happen by encouraging the competitive juniors to take part actively in the club's own competitions and by organising extra practices during the summer season before the Golf Union's competitions. This creates continuity for Virvik's successful competitive junior golf.

We practise technique and skills and play on the course. In addition we train physical condition and mental skills.

For under-12s the practice fee includes the playing rights, and under-21s get a 100 € reduction.

For example, a 15-year-old pays 65€ of the playing fee themselves = (15 x 11€ = 165€ - 100€)
